Eisriesenwelt Ice Caves – Werfern, Austria
The Eisriesenwelt (German for "Universe of the Ice Giants") is a characteristic limestone ice hole situated in Werfen, Austria, around 40 km south of Salzburg. It is the biggest ice cave in the world expanding more than 42km. Eisriesenwelt Cave was made by the Salzach waterway as it coursed through the mountain dissolving paths about 100 million years prior. Through the span of a huge number of year’s splits and cleft in the limestone turned out to be more developed as water disintegrated the stones away. Despite the fact that the hollow has a length of 42 km, just the main kilometer, the range that visitors are permitted to visit, is secured in ice.
