Bighorn River, Montana
A slice of wilderness accented with history, the Bighorn River is more than just the most popular fishing stream in this part of the world. Tourists frequent the Bighorn River in Montana for its rich offerings of rainbow and brown trout. But the river also happens to adjoin a number of hiking trails, cycling routes, and opportunities for camping and horseback riding. The river is in fact merely a part of the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, taking travelers on trips through history as well as nature. A great setting for picnicking, wildlife watching and boating, the Bighorn region also has a number of well-preserved ranches worthy of a visit.
