Journey through Peru to the Andes and Machu Picchu then descend to the Manu Biosphere Reserve, considered one of the best naturalist and wildlife viewing experiences in the entire Amazon rainforest. Traveling by foot, car, train and boat, your adventure takes you through Cusco’s ancient temples, the Urubamba Valley’s outdoor markets and Inca Ruins and to the citadel of Machu Picchu, then descends through Andean cloud forests to the Manu Wildlife Center. Once in the Amazon, you spend four days exploring 30-miles of specially-designed forest trails with your naturalist guide: search for ten species of resident monkeys, paddle winding oxbow lakes amongst caimans and piranhas and observe two mineral-rich licks that attract macaws, parrots and taipirs. For an even more in-depth Manu experience, consider our Manu Wildlife Camping Safari which spends time in a tented-camp within the border of Manu National Park.
