Rio Cangrejal, Honduras
One of Central America’s most scenic rivers is the Rio Cangrejal. Dividing the area of La Ceiba in two this river creates a terrain specifically for this area. Offering rugged geographic terrain, the Rio Cangrejal creates many small rivers and creeks that tumble from the altitudes to the Caribbean coast. This creates lovely, breathtaking waterfalls and fast-paced currents that rush towards the sea. You can find lush tropical vegetation as well as experience the treat of bird watching along the Cangrejal. Birds are easier to spot than the other mammals that venture along these riverbanks such as jaguars, anteaters, white faced monkeys, porcupines, armadillos, and others alike.
