Musanze Caves, Rwanda
Framed by hundreds of years of geological action based on the Virunga volcanoes nearby, the 1.25-mile long Musanze holes are found right outside of the town they impart a name to. They are located at just an hour and a half drive from Kigali. With a colossal opening, the greenery outside overflowing into the dusk inside makes for an awesome photography option. The caverns that are now used for vacationing were utilized as a safe house amid wartime for a long time in the past. Access is restricted to guided visits to ensure the safety of nearby inhabitants. Master guides lead each visit, and they can clarify the historical backdrop of the holes from their origin to the present day. These visits make an amazing extra activity for the evening after you've seen the gorillas in action. This option is available throughout the year.
