Loreto, Baja Mexico

Kayaking - Mexico - Latin America

One of the oldest settlements in the Baja California peninsula, this beautiful destination carries you deep into legends and colonial splendor, whether you're wandering its winding streets, exploring caves and admiring prehistoric cave paintings, or enjoying a dip in the Sea of Cortez. You'll enjoy unsurpassable natural surroundings including beautiful beaches, breathtaking cliffs, impressive rock formations and, of course, a closer look at where the colonization of Baja California all began. Loreto is rich in culture, as you'll see when you witness its colorful traditions and festivities. You'll be amazed by the vivid contrast of the deep azure of the sea against the rich greens of island vegetation. There are many nooks and stretches of sand to explore along the beautiful bays, where those with a taste for extreme sports can choose between kayaking, snorkeling and sailing.

"Amazing Kayak Experience"

Kayaking
Crystal waters, warm weather, nice beaches and the wildlife is amazing. Went on a 6 day tour (3 days of kayaking and 3 days of whale watching) -- it was awesome. Even got to touch some Grey Whales!

One of my very first kayaking trips was based out of Loreto in the Sea of Cortez with ROW Adventures- I had no idea what to expect and I was completely blown away by the spectacular nature and beauty of the area. We spent 4 days kayaking, hiking and snorkeling around the two Islands of Danzante & Carmen in the Sea of Cortez. There was not another person to be seen throughout our entire time exploring these islands other than the 10 of us on tour. The waters were pristine, the snorkeling was spectacular and the scenery was to die for. On multiple occasions we paddled through pods of hundreds of dolphins, dancing beside our kayaks as if we were one of the pod- I have never experienced something so surreal! The campsites were pristine and the view of the sunset, the infinite view of the sea from one direction and the majestic tall mountains of the Baja Peninsula off in the far distance was a delight to wake up to in the morning and say goodnight to in the evening. I can't wait to get back to the Sea of Cortez for another adventure!

"I Just love This Place"

Kayaking
This is one of the oldest settlements on the Baja California Peninsula and is another area of great beauty. There are winding colonial streets to explore and for the more adventurous there are a wide variety of water sports to be had in the Sea of Cortez.
