Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Biking - Cambodia - Asia

Sitting at over 1000 square miles, Angkor Wat is the largest religious complex in the world.  Built in the 12th century by a Hindu King, it eventually fell under the care of Buddhists in the 16th century.  The temple is perfectly preserved, showcasing intricate carvings and breathtaking architecture. The temple  represents the entire universe, with the different towers representing the mountains that make up the world. At the base of the temple is a gallery of carvings that stretches over 12,000 square feet. A moat that represents the oceans surrounding the world stretches around the entire structure.

"Get up early for sunrise!"

Walking/Hiking
My biggest tip for Angkor Wat is to give yourself plenty of time! Don't try and see it all in one day as it's just not possible. Also, make sure you get up early to see the sunrise - it's definitely worth it!
