Scottish Highlands

Wildlife Viewing - Scotland - Europe

The Highlands are a historic region of Scotland. Due to the abundance of mountains in the region, it is scarcely populated but had great cities in the 18th century. The architectural and cultural wonders attract many tourists each year. It is especially beautiful in summer around August when the cities are hosting their festivals and one can see the different species of native animals outside the cities.

The Scottish Highlands are the most beautiful parts of Scotland. They consist of ancient rocks dated back during the Cambrian and Precambrian period. Also, a number of places of interest exist in the region including Arrochar Alps, Glen Coe, Loch Goil, Conic Hill, and Castle Tioram among others.

History and folklore are everywhere. Loch Ness and Fort William, Culloden and castles, fairy hills and whisky distilleries. The Highlands offers more than just stunning landscapes (though there are plenty of those, too).
