Wildlife Viewing - Australia - Oceania

It is the world’s largest coral reef system and is composed of 900 islands and over 2,900 individual reefs. The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland, Australia. It is the world’s largest single structure made by living organisms and can even be seen from outer space. It supports a wide diversity of life and has even been labeled as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It is easily accessible by boats and is a popular site for scuba diving. Around 2 million people visit the Great Barrier Reef each year.

"Avoid the GBR crowds"

Diving
There's so many spots along the Queensland Coast where you can encounter the Great Barrier Reef, but the day trips from Cairns can be pretty crowded. If you want a more pristine spot, I'd recommend Lady Elliott Island.
