Dampier Archipelago

Fishing - Australia - Oceania

Australia’s treasure-trove of marine flora and fauna is preserved in a number of biodiversity parks along its coast. The Dampier Archipelago is one such ensemble, consisting of 42 islands off the western coast, forming one of the region’s best snorkeling destinations. 25 of the islands make up the Dampier Archipelago Marine Park, where tourists can sight dugong and bottlenose dolphins, humpback whales, and a variety of turtles and seabirds. Other attractions of the archipelago include deep water and sheltered inlet fishing, camping and sunbathing at any of the white sandy beaches that the islands have to offer.
