The luxury barge, La Belle Epoque, is our home for seven days as we glide along the waterways of Burgundy.

Tranquility and comfort accompany us on our journey, cruising peacefully through Burgundy. Every day we leave our barge to set off on foot to explore Renaissance châteaux, dramatic cliffs, wooded hills, medieval towns, lush valleys and ancient vineyards.

Fine French cuisine is prepared on board La Belle Epoque by our personal chef and every meal is accompanied by a different regional wine, making this trip a gourmet's delight.

England - Pentillie Castle

Live like a Lord and join us for six sumptuous nights at Pentillie, reserved exclusively for The Wayfarers. The elegantly restored Pentillie Castle (built 1698) on the banks of the Tamar River, which forms the border between Devon and Cornwall, provides a springboard for visiting the pick of the best features in both counties.

The week encompasses a tour of historic Plymouth (Pilgrim Fathers, Spanish Armada), coastal walking, wild walking on atmospheric Dartmoor (home of the Hound of the Baskervilles) and a visit to a former home of Sir Francis Drake. Gentler coastal estates include Tudor Cotehele with its own quay and stewpond, Mount Edgcumbe with its Grade I Cornish gardens, and Antony which was used recently as the filmset for "Alice in Wonderland" starring Johnny Depp.

There are options every day - to walk in the mornings only and return to Pentillie after lunch to relax in its calming splendor, fascinating visits or more walking each afternoon. It's a week of walking a la carte!

Italy - Sicily ~ Agrigento, Marsala & The Isle of Mozia

Greeks, Arabs, Romans and Bourbons fought over Sicily for centuries and all left their mark on the food, the people and the architecture that we see today.

We visit the ruins of Greek temples in the storied Segesta and Selinunte and our hotel in Agrigento has stunning views of the temple of Concordia. Walks take us to the mountain-top town of Erice and along the coastal paths of the Zingaro Nature Reserve, so remote that pack horses are used to carry the supplies for maintaining the paths. We take a privately chartered boat to explore Isola Grande and lunch on Mozia, once a Phoenician colony.

In Marsala we visit the famed Florio winery and have the chance to sample the local specialty - seafood couscous.

A highlight of this Walk is the private boat-trip from the foot of Vidova Gora Mountain, which takes us to a secluded terrace restaurant overlooking the sea where we dine on fresh fish caught that morning.
